Its been soo long since I posted or kept up with consistently adding new projects. This is just a small handful of ones that I had on my phone when adding new posts!

Walnut Farm Table

This is a 3 board table made for a customer that has book matched outer boards. You can see the process of lining the boards up so the grain and figuring will be symmetrical.

Old Barn Reclaimed Heart Pine Table

 This project started with old barn wood from Montgomery, AL

 Next we laid them out in the order that was most pleasing to the customer...

 Once the glue had dried, we hand sanded the top to keep the old mill marks but also keeping it smooth to the touch. You can usually tell if wood is old or new by the "mill marks". Woodmills from the past used circular saws to rip lumber, which in turn left circular marks. If you look below you can see the saw marks have an arch in them. Modern mills use large bandsaws which leave a vertical mark.

English Chest

Made this for a Florida customer as a side table for her husband. She came up with a very simple design and we used beautiful mahogany and old mahogany handles I've salvaged from some beat-up pieces. It turned out really nice IMO...

We finished it with a marble top from Southside Granite...



Step Stools

One of my son's favorite things to carry around the house is a stepstool I made for him to brush his teeth and climb into the bed at night. These are simple and cheap and are alot easier (and better looking) than lugging a ladder out of the garage!

The inlay is curly-maple and the body is walnut. Finished with boiled linseed oil.

I left the circular saw marks on the top to give it that rustic/reclaimed look.





New Farm Table

A four-plank black walnut table. If you look closely (the pictures can be enlarged by clicking them) the outside boards are bookmatched and the inner two boards are bookmatched! All the lumber came from the SAME TREE!

         The legs and skirt are made from Red Oak, very strong have a great grain pattern when shellaced, painted and distressed.

Hell, we even made a bench from the last plank of the tree!

The customer saw the set of benches I had put on this blog and said I want the same ones! 8)
